The decision - making of families caring for a senior member before and during the COVID19 pandemic

The diploma thesis topic is the decision-making of families regarding the care of their relatives in the elderly before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The work aims to find out and describe the reasons of caregivers which led to the choice of a specific type of care for their relatives before and during the pandemic, through retrospective interviews with family members of seniors. At the same time, to reflect with the respondents on the changes they had to deal with during the pandemic in relation to the care of the elderly. The work is divided into the theoretical and methodological part. The theoretical part is divided into three main chapters and primarily focuses on the general characteristics of care for the elderly, the definition of key needs of seniors, and the impact of the pandemic on the lives of seniors and carers. Due to the focus of the diploma thesis, he also deals with the typology of family caregivers. The aim of this part was to define the typology of families, with which I further worked in the methodological part. The last chapter describes pandemic's impact on seniors' lives, taking into account the problems related to their care. Financing of social care services for the elderly in the Czech Republic - current problems and challenges

The thesis "Financing of Social Care services for the Elderly in the Czech Republic - Current Problems and Challenges" deals with analysis of system of social care services for the elderly in view of the fact that the current financing form is subject to criticism for its inefficiency. The aim of this thesis is to critically reflect changes in the provision and financing of social care services for the elderly in the Czech Republic after 2007 in the context of current challenges related to long-term social care and health care. The thesis in its introduction first deals with the formulation of the research problem, deals with particular targets, research questions and the methods of data collection, which are the methods of analysis and public policy making and qualitative research methods. It also discusses the theoretical background of social services and their financing. The next chapter of the thesis deals with the system development of social services and changes in the provision and financing of social care services, which occurred in connection with the adoption of Act No. 108/2006 Coll., On social services. The role of social work for family with disabled child over the period of compulsory schooling Possibilities and limits the use of social services in South Bohemia

This thesis deals with the provision of social care services for families with a handicapped child aged 6-15 years. The thesis describes how is the family affected by the birth of a disabled child, such as phases of the family is going through and how it affects the position of the healthy siblings if there is any. Than thesis describes methods of social work with families and focus on the family as a complex. From this they derive principles that should be implemented to the work with the family with a handicapped child. Than I describe social care services that are provided to disabled children aged 615 years. Based on the of theoretical information is developed a comparative analysis of various service organizations with a focus on disabled children aged 615 years in South Bohemia.

Consequences of ageing population for the needs of social care services

This thesis is focused on problems of consequences of ageing population and the needs of social care services in terms of bed capacity in retirements homes and nursing homes. The aim of the thesis is to set a projection of bed capacity in these facilities at the level of individual regions and the whole Czech Republic by 2051. The dissertation presents three methods of calculating the future bed capacity which shows that the bed capacity will need to be significantly increased in future. The results found show that there are regional differences in the demographic structure within the Czech Republic at regional level which leads to a different intensity of demand for bed capacity.

Consequences of an aging population for the need for social care services for seniors

The thesis deals with the problem of aging of the population in the lower territorial unit in the municipality with extended competence in Příbram. The current situation of the population is dealt with, but the future population status is projected from 2015 to 2030. For their analysis are used demographic and economic indicators, results of own projection as well as a description of social care services provided in this area. The aging of the population is related to several key themes, mainly with the provision of adequate care for the elderly, and in the work it is also addressed in terms of financing services and the increasing burden of the economically active population. The demographic data on the local population is compared with the situation in the Czech Republic. The benefit of the work is primarily to determine the need for social care services for the elderly in the future, to identify possible shortcomings in their provision, capacity, quality and financing. The aim of the thesis is also to find possible solutions that are most effective and help to ensure safe and peaceful aging for all seniors in SO ORP Příbram. The result of the work is to map the current situation and to create a future estimation that will provide the necessary documents for better planning of social services for the elderly.

Title: The Principles of Funding of the Public and Voluntary Formalised Solidarity in the Social Care Services in the Czech Republic Abstract: The social care services are a specific system within the social protection system. Opposed to the public benefit systems they allow the coexistence of public and voluntary solidarity. There are many welfare state models and systems of cooperation of the public and NGOs in Europe. These models offer differently formed relationships of their entities. This thesis raises the question of finding a more convenient organisation of the whole system of the social care services in the Czech Republic where the problem is currently being discussed The objective of the thesis is to find possibilities of public and voluntary solidarity in the social care services settings and to suggest ways for their cooperation. The research is mainly based on qualitative methods. Firstly, the causal links of statistical nature from the fields of demography, social relations and economics are introduced. In the next step a combination of methods of in depth interviews and expert discussions is used. They focus on public solidarity and regulation in the system. Selected economic context of social care services

Summary
In the theoretical part of the thesis Selected Economic Aspects of Social Care Services, I present a definition and an overview of the statutory regulation of social care services in the historical perspective and from the viewpoint of the valid law. The subsequent section, which is the core segment of the theoretical part of my thesis, sets forth a specification and a general outline of all social care services available in our jurisdiction.
The chapter about the funding of social services identifies the available financial resources, and the range of options associated with the payment of social care services. The services and particularly the financing methods constitute a frequent topic for discussion among all main initiators (promoters, movers) of social services.
In the practical part of the thesis, I present an identification of financial resources of one selected social service provider, and an analysis of its income from transfers, users payments for meals, from the accommodation and care allowances, and other revenue generated from 2005 to 2015. This part of the thesis also shows a comparison of the amount of individual transfers and payments from users, including per-user care allowance per year and month in the period from 2005 to 2015. The analysis is then used to identify the system for subsidy allocation, to draw conclusions on specific findings, and to present some recommendations. The last section of the practical part compares the selected social service provider with other organizations providing the same services in the year 2014.

The seniors´activation in the Our Lady´s Home of peaceful old age of the Regional charity in Klatovy

This bachelor's thesis deals with the activation of seniors. The theoretical part describes an aging, old age and its effects on the seniors´ activities. It characterizes the forms and kinds of activization programmes, by which we can act against these impacts. It provides the basic conditions for the success of activization programmes. The practical part characterizes the residential facilities of social services, the Home for the Elderly - The Our Lady´s Home of peaceful old age of the Regional charity in Klatovy, and the using of activization programmes there.
